The last of my brothers finally got engaged…… Josh proposed to Annie this weekend while  we were all golfing. Two years ago, Annie reluctantly agreed to go golfing with Josh, so he thought it would be appropriate that now after two years of putting up with him that he would ask her to marry him. It really was a cool proposal. He had me golf in the foursome ahead of him and I had the ring with me. When I got to the 18th hole I put the ring at the bottom of the cup and put the flag back in. Everything looked natural.  The plan was to have Annie putt first and pull the box with the ring in it out of the bottom of the cup after she putted her ball in. Of course Josh hits and incredible shot and lands within feet of the pin on the green. Annie took her long put and it went straight to the cup….Annie was excited she has just sunk such a long putt. Little did she know she would soon be even more excited!!! As she reached into the bottom of the cup to pick up her ball, Josh had gotten down on one knee. Annie was very shocked. She had no idea that Josh was finally going to propose to her. He pulled the ring out of the cup and asked Annie to marry him. In between tears she said YES. Annie committed to becoming a Victim of the Peterson Clan!!!!

The results for the entrance into the St. George Marathon were finally posted. I received a generic email letting me know that I had not been chosen to run in this years St. George Marathon. I was honestly sad about not being able to run in the St. George Marathon. I guess that means I need to find another marathon to run. There are a couple of options, I just need to find something that will fit my schedule. Who would have thought that I would be so upset at not being chosen to run 26.2 miles. Am I crazy? I have had a lot of people ask me why I would ever want to endure all the training and then run 26.2 miles all at once. I guess it is very simple…. I push through the times that I hate running. I endure the pain and discomfort for a few months of training to say for a lifetime that … I RAN A MARATHON!

So the quest for another marathon continues.

Maddie has been taking puppy preschool at Petsmart for the last 4 weeks. We have learned to Sit…Down…Stay…Come..Drop It…and LEAVE IT.   The “Leave It” command has been a bit of an issue. She seems to think that everything is hers and that she shouldn’t have to “Leave It” if she doesn’t want to.

Today at Puppy Preschool we practiced our commands and when it got to the “Leave It” command, Maddie and I went first to show everything that we had practiced all week. The floor was strewn with all kinds of toys and treats. Maddie and I walked through the scattered items and I repeated, “Leave It” on every item….she continued to sniff at the items until I gently pulled her to the next item in our field of failure and told her to “Leave It”. The last item that we had to “Leave It” was a Milk Bone. Maddie has never see one of these in her life, but you would think she had discovered Manna. She wanted that Milk Bone more than any of the other items we had passed by. I finally had to put my foot on it and pull her away as I commanded, “Leave It”.

We sat back down and let the other puppies take their chances in the field of pleasure. Maddie sat there staring at the Milk Bone and as Shadow the Black Standard Poodle approached “HER” Milk Bone she lost it. She suddenly became Korihor the Anti-Christ.  She latched on to Shadow letting him know that he should not even be approaching her Milk Bone, let alone thinking about eating it.

This little episode got Maddie and I kicked out of Puppy School tonight. Yes, I have a dog that has been kicked out of Petsmart’s Puppy Preschool. Maddie didn’t seem to mind, but I tucked my tail between my legs and I took the walk of shame as we left our friends at Puppy Preschool.

We moved over to the Ritz Carlton today. Can I live here? What is it about the Ritz Carlton hotels. If you have ever stayed in one you know what I mean. It just feels like home. We spent our last day in Cancun here at the Ritz. I have to say they have the coolest pool in Cancun…..because it is tiled in dark blue tiles. I spent the day lounging by the pool and drinking my Kahlua Coladas. They were great, don’t get me wrong, but they were not like the ones we had in Maui. The ocean was fun. I sat out there and bobbed up down in the waves and let the warm sun fall on my shoulders. What a way to spend a day.

There were some really cool Kite boarders out on the water this morning. I guess that means that I am going to have to come back and experience the thrill of snowboarding in the ocean.

We decided to ride down to Cancun Downtown today. I have never been to the downtown part of Cancun. I have always stayed at the beach and just relaxed away my vacation. We boarded one of the famous busses and headed to new excitement. We were in search of Market 28. Market 28 is supposed to be a big market where I could do what I do best and this bargain. Oh my mom would be proud of me if she could see my bargaining skills. My mom uses coupons to get her price, I use bargaining.

We got off the bus a little premature because we were not exactly sure where we were going and we ran into the coolest store……ERECTUS. Erectus is a sex store with a "Special Backroom where you can learn how to operate your new purchases with the lovely woman of the dark. I wanted to go in, but was afraid Little Mama might be a little embarrassed of the bargaining I might get into over dildos or some other unique sex toy, so I kept on walking.

We did run into the post office as we were walking…. I guess Mexico doesn’t get cool little boxed vehicles that we get here in the United States.

The market was great….but I knew I should have done my bargaining at ERECTUS.
