90210

I spent the week in California, living the life in the famous 90210 zip code. We stayed at the incredibly beautiful Beverly Wilshire. I have stayed a few wonderful places in the world, but I must say the Beverly Wilshire was an incredible place to stay. The staff was incredible. They made a point to call us by name everywhere we went. Since I was staying with the Cambra family, I was known as Mr. Cambra. I will take the name. Little Mama and Juan Juan stayed with us all week. We don’t get to see them often enough so it was great to hang out all week. Little Mama started off the week with a cold. The staff would call on a daily basis to check up on her and ask how she was doing. She walked down to the concierge desk late one evening to get some decongestant. The young woman at the desk was as helpful as always. She greeted Little Mama and asked how she could be of help. Little Mama said she needed a decongestant and the young woman said, “Ms. Cambra, I would be happy to have one of our drivers drive you in one of our Rolls Royce cars to…RITE AID….that is a pharmacy….or I will have one of the Pages go over there and pick up what you need.”  Little Mama wasn’t sure how to take that comment. Did the young woman think Little Mama had never seen a Rite Aid pharmacy…or did the woman think Little Mama had helpers at home that did all of those menial errands in her life? It was a very interesting experience staying at the Beverly Wilshire. There are a lot of people that have more money then I would EVER know what to do with. We did see a few celebrities hanging around the hotel. Sidney Poitier, Jerry Springer and P. Diddy and then there were those “celebrities” that everyone else was pointing at and taking pictures, but I had no idea who the hell they were. I guess I need to work on my A-List star trivia.
